Headquartered in downtown Vancouver, our client is a unique SaaS software company in online education. Reporting to the VP Operations, you will be responsible for performing full-cycle accounting, cash management and month-end tasks. You are interested in accounting and have qualified as a CPA because you want to make meaningful contributions in positions you hold. You have gained on the job experience leading to ongoing upward development in your career.
Responsibilities
Own accounts payable and banking functions.
Communicate with multiple departments for updates on customer status and subsequently oversee invoice drafting, review, issuance and collections.
Prepare required government remittances WCB, GST, PST, and all other relevant regulatory filings.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare monthly journal entries, including multi-currency consolidation.
Perform full-cycle accounting and month-end functions efficiently and accurately.
Prepare month-end financial reports of a multi-company group and their consolidation for review and discussion.
Prepare year-end working papers and liaise with external advisors as required.
Assist the VP and other departmental leads with annual budget process including providing meaningful recommendations.
Perform ad hoc and regular financial analysis and reports as required to support the executive team.
Review accounting procedures and make recommendations to improve or implement processes.
Investigate and resolve financial transaction issues including GAAP requirements.
Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the CFO.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration. Preference will be given to candidates who hold a CPA designation or equivalent in work experience.
5 years of recent related experience in a similar role.
Proven experience in taking responsibility for full-cycle accounting processes, policies and systems.
Strong financial and analytical abilities in a SaaS company.
Detail-oriented, organized and able to meet tight deadlines.
Self-motivated and results-driven; you’re comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Prioritization, time management and project management skills.
Effective written and interpersonal communication skills; you have the ability to build a positive, team-oriented environment.
You have demonstrated aptitude in dealing with private and confidential information; you use diplomacy and tact in all interactions.
