Overview

Our Client is a profitable SaaS company on the cusp of their next wave of growth and as a result, we are looking to bring on a Chief Operating Officer to partner with the CEO and help build and execute on the vision. The primary objective for the COO will be to take over day-to-day operations so the CEO can free up more time to focus on innovation and strategic growth. We are looking for a partner to the leadership team who can be a sounding board for new ideas with a passion for translating the best ideas into systems and processes.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be responsible for leadership and day to day management of the company. Working with the CEO, the COO will take responsibility for translating the strategy into a business plan and take ownership of leading the team in the execution of the plan.

Additionally, the COO will take ownership of a professional services initiative to build a potential strategy to increase market share by providing enhanced services to existing and potential customers. These services will focus on providing more robust solutions that leverage the product platform and embed us deeper into the customer value chain. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Promote an entrepreneurial environment that fosters new ideas and a culture of innovation

  • Translate long term goals into procedures, processes and KPI’s into the business plan that directs ownership and accountability for all managers and employees

  • Working with the team and CEO, develop a professionals services practice strategy to augment the current sales model

  • Assessment of the business opportunity with the existing client base to provide a broader enterprise solution that leverages the product platform

  • Create a profitable model to engage new potential customers and increase market share by offering fee-for-service customized solutions development

  • Provide executive leadership to the company and deliver the results targeted in the corporate strategy and business plans

  • Break down the Business Plan into clear objectives and delegate responsibilities and deliverables to each manager and ensure each employee has ownership, accountability and empowerment in achieving the company’s targets

  • Establish and maintain internal processes, procedures, and set a high standard of integrity throughout the company

  • Ensure the planning and management of the operating budget is within the means of the company

  • Help build financial models to align the financial strategy with the corporate vision

  • Ensure that transparent financial reporting structures are developed and implemented

  • Support the key team members in delivering marketing strategy, marketing communications, product marketing and promotions for products and services

  • Bring an open, mentorship and inclusive management style that builds strong autonomous management teams that communicate, and leverage each other’s strengths

Key Qualifications

  • Advanced university degree in a relevant field

  • 10 years’ experience in a leadership role in an entrepreneurial company of approximately 30 employees

  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and communicate a clear value proposition to customers

  • Proven experience in operational leadership in comparable companies preferably in SaaS or technology-enabled services company

  • Experienced at managing the P&L for a company or division

  • Mentoring leadership style, knows how to inspire exceptional effort and achieve results
