VP Talent Acquisition, Health Tech

Location: Vancouver, Toronto, or Montreal.

Overview:
We seek a seasoned and visionary leader to join our executive team as Vice President, Talent Acquisition. In this pivotal role, you will design and execute a forward-thinking talent acquisition strategy that aligns with our organization's ambitious growth objectives and operational goals. You will oversee all facets of the recruitment lifecycle—from workforce planning to sourcing, recruiting, and onboarding top talent across our multi-site operations.

Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with extensive leadership experience in recruitment, preferably within industries such as retail pharmacy, eyewear, healthcare, or veterinary clinics. You thrive in dynamic environments, possess exceptional team-building skills, and are passionate about creating high-performing, collaborative teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to support organizational growth.

    • Collaborate with executive leadership to anticipate staffing needs and create proactive recruitment plans.

  • Team Development

    • Lead and mentor a high-performing talent acquisition team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

    • Establish clear performance metrics to evaluate and enhance recruitment effectiveness.

  • Recruitment Strategy

    • Drive creative sourcing strategies to attract diverse and qualified candidates for roles across multiple locations.

    • Leverage data-driven insights to analyze recruitment trends and strengthen talent pipelines.

  • Employer Branding

    • Elevate the organization's employer brand, positioning it as an employer of choice in our industry.

    • Partner with marketing and communications teams to highlight culture, values, and career opportunities.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Collaborate with hiring managers to craft tailored recruitment strategies that align with operational goals.

    • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including agencies, educational institutions, and industry associations.

  • Compliance and Best Practices

    • Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment process.

    • Stay current on talent acquisition trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Onboarding and Retention

    • Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring new hires are set up for long-term success.

Education, Credentials, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is highly desirable.

  • Professional certifications such as CPHR, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or PHR are an asset.

  • 7+ years of talent acquisition experience, with a minimum of 5+ years in leadership roles within a multi-site organization.

  • Demonstrated expertise in industries such as retail, pharmacy, healthcare, or other service-focused sectors is preferred.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels and articulate the organization's vision.

  • Diversity and Inclusion: Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace.

  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, HR technologies, and digital recruitment strategies.

Compensation range: 180,000+
