Our client is a family owned and operated retail business which has successfully been offering top quality home furnishing products to Western Canada for over 40 years. Reporting to the President and CEO, the CIO will be responsible for all hardware, software, network and server management, database administration, helpdesk, and anything related to the day-to-day technological operational needs of the business. In addition to managing day-to-day IT operations, this role will be a transformational leader in the company, responsible for large scale IT transformations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Set objectives and strategies for the IT department that are aligned with the company’s business goals.
Technology Leadership: Lead all aspects related to the day-to-day tech operational needs of the business. This includes all system planning and rollouts, including hardware, network and server management, database administration, and the helpdesk function.
People Leadership: Lead a team 20+ IS/IT professionals that maintains and upgrades equipment, operating systems, firewalls, anti-virus protection and other general system utilities and applications necessary to the efficient support of the properties applications.
Operational Leadership: Develop, optimize and implement IT procedures and best practices to meet organizational needs.
Budget/Financial Leadership: Create a departmental financial budget based on annual resource planning, and manage costs to this budget throughout the year.
Experience & Qualifications:
Experience successfully moving from a legacy ERP to a fully integrated IT solution will be an asset.
Experience working with multiple ERP platforms, including, MS Dynamics, SysPro and Salesforce would be an asset.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in computer science or Information Systems.
Proven track record in an executive leadership position with a mid to large sized organization.
Strong Operational experience, 10+ years in a technical leadership role.
Experience in designing IS/IT systems and planning IS/IT implementation.
Experienced at assessment, procuring estimates and putting together and managing detailed budgets and work plans, as well as presentation to senior executive decision-makers.
Exceptional communication, project management and change management skills.
Very high integrity and a passion for helping people achieve more.
