Change Manager and Configuration Manager I

We are seeking a Change Manager, and Asset and Configuration Manager for a midsized big data company in Richmond. Our client provides data and data analytics to fortune 500 companies in the utilities, commodities and financial markets. This role will oversee change management for a SaaS environment and internal IT systems. Additionally, this position may involve work as process manager or process practitioner in other ITSM processes, and other duties as assigned by the Manager, Quality and Compliance.

Job Description:

As Change Manager:

  • Review change requests, assess risk level of change, assign change request to appropriate change approvers
  • Coordinate and communicate with change requestors, change implementers and Change Advisory Board
  • Facilitate Change Advisory Board meetings
  • Ensure change requests meet the quality and content requirements as defined by the Change Management process
  • Detect and prevent unauthorized changes
  • Working with service owners and other process managers to ensure the smooth running of services

With respect to Asset and Configuration Management:

  • Ownership of Configuration Management database (CMDB). Work with IT Services team in development and maintenance of CMDB
  • Ensure all changes to C.I. are accurately reflected in CMDB, update CI maps
  • Monitor and detect unauthorized changes to C.I.s

Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Experience in meeting facilitation
  • Process oriented, with a knack for detecting inefficiencies and devising plan for improvements
  • 1 or more years experience participating in change management process
  • Understanding of network components typical in a SaaS environment
  • Familiarity with CMDB systems
  • ITIL Foundations 2011 or V.3
  • Organized and good with details
  • Experience working cross-functionally and building collaborative working relationships; interfacing effectively with stakeholders, operations, and management to resolve issues
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent

Nice to have:

  • 1 or more years experience working as Change Manager
  • Project management skills
  • ITIL Intermediate level training in Service Transition
  • Hands on experience working with ITIL processes
